Dry Cleaning in the Times of Covid

The CDC and WHO state the dry cleaning and laundry processes kill most viruses.  The CDC advises that the dry cleaning, which includes cleaning and pressing, is effective eliminating viruses.

According to Dan Eisen, "The heat used in all finishing would most likely destroy all germs, viruses and bacteria. The temperature of the steam created reaches temperatures of over 300 degrees Farenheit. It would seem that steam tunnels would be an efficient way of disinfecting." He adds: "strong solvents such as perchloroethylene have less problems with bacteria." Eisen, a published author and consultant is the former chief garment analyst for the National Cleaners Association.

Dry cleaning your clothes, even when working from home, is part of  comprehensive COVID precautionary measures like wearing masks and gloves, a practice encouraged by our personnel. Society Cleaners is disciplined with the frequent use of EPA-approved disinfectants and proper ventilation.

Make dry cleaning part of your COVID-protection habits.
